My Story

I trained to teach through the Teach First leadership programme — one of the UK's most competitive routes into teaching, placing top graduates in schools that need them most. That experience shaped everything about how I approach education: high expectations, relentless focus on progress, and a belief that every child can achieve more than they think.

After qualifying with my PGCE and QTS, I taught in UK state primary schools before moving to Lisbon, where I joined St Julian's International School — one of the Iberian Peninsula's leading British curriculum schools. Working across both systems gave me a deep understanding of how the British curriculum translates in international settings, and the specific challenges families face when moving between education systems.

I'm currently completing an MSc in Psychology, which has transformed how I think about learning. My sessions draw on research in metacognition, memory and motivation — teaching students not just what to learn, but how to learn. I focus on building the cognitive habits that make academic success sustainable, not just helping children pass the next test.

What I Believe

Every child I work with is different. Some need help closing curriculum gaps. Others are ahead of their class and need stretch. Some are preparing for entrance exams. Some are adjusting to a new school system in a new country.

What they all share is a need for someone who understands the curriculum deeply, who can meet them where they are, and who genuinely cares about their progress. That's what I provide — bespoke, one-to-one educational support built around your child.

I don't use pre-made worksheets or generic lesson plans. Every session is planned around what your child needs next, informed by ongoing assessment and regular communication with you about their progress.
